Grand View Track and Field throws coach Seth Roberson takes great pride in developing throwers into conference champions and All-Americans as well as guiding them towards success outside of the throws venue.  The success of the Grand View Throws Crew under Roberson speaks for itself:

•    35 MCC All-Conference honorees
•    23 Midwest Collegiate Conference Individual Champions
•    28 NAIA National Championship Qualifiers
•    12 Grand View School Records

•    Eight MCC Championship event records

•    Three MCC “Field Athlete of the Year”
•    Two Drake Relays Qualifier

In the last two seasons alone, under Roberson’s leadership, Grand View throwers have exploded on the national scene earning trips to the NAIA national championships 21 times and performing at ALL-AMERICAN levels FOUR times.  In that same time GV throwers also won 12 MCC individual event titles, set five MCC Championship records, and were voted MCC Athlete’s of the Year twice!  This success is done through a deliberate plan designed by Coach Roberson and executed by the GV throwers.

Roberson’s personal resume is impressive as well.  He holds degrees in physics and secondary education from Wartburg College where he competed in multiple throws events, was a four time Academic All-Conference athlete, a team captain for the track and field and football teams, and a two time Academic All-American.  He is a member of the National Throws Coaches Association, a USA Track and Field Level 1 Certified Coach, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  He also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Program Coordinator at Grand View and has developed year round programs resulting in major gains in strength, explosive abilities, flexibility, and conditioning levels. Each winter Coach Roberson also conducts the Viking Throws Clinic held on the campus of Grand View University. Over the past six years the clinic has seen participants from five states and has helped produce eight state champions.

Coach Roberson came to Grand View from Wartburg College where he served as the assistant throws and strength and conditioning coach for the track and field programs. He helped lead Wartburg to three conference titles and the 2005 NCAA Women's National Championship. While with Wartburg he worked with six all-conference, two conference champion, a school record, and two national qualifying throwers. Roberson and his wife Amanda reside in Des Moines.
