Over the past four years, the clinic has seen participants from five states and has produced 17 Drake Relays qualifiers and 75 high school state meet qualifiers. Of those qualifiers, 17 advanced to the finals in their events and five were crowned state champions!

"I would like to invite you, your athletes, and your coaching staff to the 2010 Grand View University Track and Field Throws Clinic on Sunday February 7th, Friday March 12th or Saturday March 13th. This is the fifth year for this hands-on clinic, which has resulted in great success for athletes attending. Your athletes will learn drills and techniques for shot put and discus. The clinic will also cover flexibility, speed development, weightlifting, and plyometric drills for throwers. 

Use the links on the left to view more information and have your athletes register online.  Registrations will also be accepted by mail, email, or at the door.  If their registration and waiver are sent by January 29th, they will receive a discounted price.  Coaches, if you have at least one athlete attend the clinic it is free of charge to you and your coaching staff.  If you do not have any athletes attending you are welcome to attend as well ($20 for the entire staff).  Please send indoor implements with your athletes for use at the clinic.   

This year we will also be offering an advanced session.  Athletes must apply by indicating their interest on the registration.  Have these athletes register early and include email address to be notified if they are accepted to this session.

This is a great opportunity for you and your throwers to get a jump on the 2010 track and field season.  Whether your throwers are beginners or experienced they will benefit from the individual attention and hands-on experience they will get.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me."
